Employees in the Shelby County Farm Service Agency and Soil and Water Conservation District in Shelbyville, IL "fight" for breast cancer.
Statistics say that one out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in a single year. In the combined offices of Shelby County FSA, NRCS, and SWCD four brave women have been diagnosed and fought the fight of breast cancer.
Soil and Water Conservation board chairman and owner of "Fighting Chance Customs", Steve Koontz, custom built a motorcycle to bring awareness to breast cancer. Steve got his inspiration to take on this challenge from his wife and good friend Vicky. Vicky is a breast cancer survivor and employee of the Shelby County SWCD.
The custom built "Fight Like a Girl" pink motorcycle will be raffled off in October, 2012. All proceeds will go to benefit Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation's Vicky Wagner Breast Cancer Assistance Fund. The money raised is specifically earmarked for helping local women with out-of-pocket expenses for their treatment.
